About Rachel the Harpist

Rachel Easson is a professional harpist with over 20 years of experience on the instrument and more than 15 years performing for weddings and special events. She is the founder and principal harpist of Easson’s Harp Services and is one half of the harp and cello duo HARLO, offering performances as both a soloist and ensemble musician.

Rachel’s musical journey began unexpectedly at age nine, when a chance encounter with the harp offered her a gateway into music at a time when traditional school band options didn’t fit. This spark would evolve into a lifelong pursuit. Throughout her career, Rachel has trained closely with celebrated harpists Chantal Dube and Suzanne Thomas, principal harpist of the Buffalo Philharmonic.

Before transitioning to full-time music in 2021, Rachel balanced her passion for the harp with a wide range of hands-on work — from farming and construction to equine veterinary assistance and vehicle electronics. These varied paths shaped her grounded, professional approach and deepened her appreciation for creative work. Her performances are marked by emotional depth, musical sensitivity, and an unwavering commitment to craft.
